9 - Husavik, Whales, and .... a brewery

Tues Aug 26- Husavik, Iceland

It’s hot out today.  We miss the Iceland cold weather.  We’re in the port of Husavik, known for whale watching.  We have an outing on a speed boat (called a rib boat, which is kind of like a firmer zodiac) with the Gentle Giants company.

We wander the small port and then gear up in the bulky, mandatory parkas.

The trip was fun and we did some different pieces of whales, but overall I am a bit disappointed in the viewing.

After, we explore the whale museum (great what skeletons), and walk to the local Husavik Brewery (culture, I tell ya).

Back on board, we join the White Night party for dinner.  We end the evening with a rousing game of Life in the lounge.  Ironic that, considering we are all blissfully happily child free, Jim wins because he has the most kids.

Tomorrow we're heading to the second biggest city in Iceland, with another full day or touring.
