Part 5 - More Safari before we go home

Published on 9 May 2025 at 22:17

More photos and videos from our drives.  Hyenas, leopards, fighting zebras, and a rare African cat were just some of our sightings.

A rare Cape Cobra sighting

Cape Buffalo herd crossing the road

Bush breakfasts and sundowner snacks break up the drives

Birds of Africa.  Check out the snake eagle, with his snake dinner.

We found some male Zebras fighting for the right to mate

Another baby sighting... hyena cubs emerging from their den in the early evening.  The hyenas share family dens, but in the video you can see the mom searching for her own cub.

This leopard was marking her territory, and roaring to warn off a nearby potential enemy leopard.  She had grown up around the jeeps and was very comfortable around them.

Turn up the sound for this one.  You can hear her warning others away from her territory

NSFW warning - Enlarge this one and you can see her peeing to leave her scent

Finally, a new animal for us - an African Serval. The tag is a radio collar, because these are rare and the reserve wants to help care for them.

Look how pretty this guy is, and how close he gets when he walks by the jeep

It was finally time to say good-bye (for now) to South Africa.   We can't wait to return!

CHEERS!,

Amazing, some of these pictures were better than what I saw in National Geographic magazines, stunning. Thanks for sharing and please let me know when the next journey is posted too.
