Part 4 - On the Safari Drives

Published on 8 May 2025 at 22:15

The safari drives are the reason we're all here.  Our guides are the ranger Busani and tracker Mousa.  They take great care of us over the next four nights.

This big guy starting getting a little too close.  Rangers don't mess with Elephants, so we backed away.

One of our favorite sightings were the 5 cheetah cubs.  They were about 5 weeks old and this was probably the first solid food they were attempting to eat.  Mom caught an impala for them, and they were learning to chew it.  That is NOT lipstick!

Turn the audio up for the video.  You can hear them chirping.

How far away were they?  They were right about here

Some more random enounters

Continuing the young cub theme, here was a lioness and her young cub playing around.

Just like moms everywhere, you can see the point just where this lioness just wants some peace and quiet

The lions were VERY close
